Ambassador Kazuyoshi Matsunaga

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Mr.
Kazuyoshi Matsunaga will attend the signing ceremony of the Exchange of Notes for “The Project for
Economic and Social Development Programme (High-Speed Boat to reinforce service for coastal security in
Nigeria)” on 27th June 2022.
The Government of Japan has extended the aid of JPY 300 million equivalent of
2.78 million USD to the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in order to contribute to the economic
and social development in Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement from the embassy to Apex News Exclusive in Sunday.
The implementing partner is the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
The project is to support the measures adopted by the Nigerian government to deal with the threat to the blue economy to prevent and suppress piracy, arm robbery, and any other unlawful act against a ship, aircraft, and any other maritime craft, including fixed and floating platform.
The “Economic and Social Development” is one of the guiding principles of the Tokyo International Conference on African
Development (TICAD). The people and the Government of Japan hope this project will enable NIMASA reinforce their
operation and services for coastal security of Nigeria, strengthen Nigeria’s counterpiracy efforts, involve the acquisition of assets, and believe that this assistance will be very useful for the security of the Gulf of Guinea.
The signing ceremony will be held as at Conference Room of the Honourable Minister of State, 5th Floor, Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Central Business District, Abuja, F.C.T.

Working for the Health & safety Executive in the UK conducting sport check and conduct a second stage check focusing on the areas of concern, capturing the information and data provided by the business and make a determination of compliance or referral for an inspection visit. The role requires NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum. Work experience of COVID control and compliance. High degree of understanding of current government guidelines related to COVID control, keeping up to date with the changes in relation to all devolved nations. Ability to be adaptable, resilient and able to deal with conflict and resolution. The aim of the role is to support the business in achieving a pass, either through signposting or by supporting with the risk assessment process to achieve compliance. It requires a high level of concentration, understanding of a varied business stock and the ability to tailor your approach to the customer. Telephone and computer competence is a requirement, due to the quality assurance programme and that the information gathered is used by the process leads and fed in to COBRA. The role now involves supporting and signposting businesses in compliance of the Management Standards in relation to Work Related Stress. it requires a high degree of knowledge of the standards, risk assessment, EAP and Occupational Health Programmes, MHFA and how to apply from a business of 5 or less to SME and larger enterprises.
I have 18 years UK Special Forces operational experience in war zones working with various governments, military and civilian agencies. I have worked as a safety and security manager, maritime coordinator, advisor in corporation with my other jobs spec for the past 15 years. I have a high level of professional integrity, strong management and communications skills, with a diversity of logistics attributes. I have audited and managed security for large corporations, managing large teams with sole responsibility for the security of hundreds of employees and multimillion-pound assets. In addition, I have provided close protection for high profile news teams and individuals in challenging environments. I am an open-minded leader and a team player, able to adapt to any environment and respond to rapidly changing situations, ensuring security tasks are completed effectively, on time and budget.
