As the 2022 Inter-media sports competition of the Bauchi State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) comes to an end on Friday with finals of football competition with Globe FM Bauchi emerging winners.
The Globe FM retained the football trophy it won in the last edition of the SWAN inter-media week-long games.
The Globe FM football team secured the victory through penalty shoot out by 6 goals to 5 against the hard fighting Albarka FM team after a goalless full time.
The final was played at the football pitch of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) play ground,Yelwa campus which attracted dignitaries from within and outside the state.
Some of the dignitaries included the North East Zonal Vice President of SWAN, Malam Jibo Zakaria, Chairman of Wikki Tourists Football Club, Balarabe Yusuf Douglas, State Chairman of NUJ, Umar Saidu and a former Chairman of Bauchi State SWAN, Alhaji Ubati Mohammed.
The trophy was presented to the team Captain of Globe FM, Abubakar Waziri who lifted it to the admiration of other members of staff of the station who were there to cheer.
The week long activities will be climaxed Saturday, 2nd July 2022 with an award Ceremony scheduled to hold at DEC Conference hall.
