The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has called on the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force, Mr.Usman Alkali to disband the Ebubeagu Security Network in Imo State following the massacre of seven wedding guests in Otulu community, Orlu East of state.
The group which also condemned the killing and sympathized with families of those who lost their lives ones, claimed that operatives of Ebubeagu in lmo have drifted from it’s original concept of which they will established to a killer squad, stressing that it has outlived it’s usefulness.
The socio cultural group also insisted that it would drag the state governor, Chief Hope Uzodinma to Amadioha deity over his role to shield the killers.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the secretary general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro and was made available to Apex News Exclusive.
His words: “However, Ohanaeze Ndigbo wish to use this opportunity to call on the inspector general of police, Mr.Usman Alkali to disband the Ebubeagu security outfit in Imo state owing to reason that they have turned themselves into a killer squad thereby outlived its usefulness.
“We condemned the gruesome murder of Otulu community’s wedding guests in Orlu East of Imo state.We also sympathized with families of those who lost their loved ones in the tragedy.
“Again, Ndigbo has handed over the tragic incident to Amadioha deity including Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo for prosecution and actions following his role to cover up the incident because it’s a sacrilege for anyone to use security reports to exonerate those responsible for the gruesome killing of Otulu community’s wedding guests,”he explained.
Isiguzoro however asked the Inspector General of Police to intervene by investigating and bringing those that masterminded the ill act to book.
