PDP presidential candidate, Atiku inaugurates youth business investment forum in Kano

As part of his campaign strategies to woo votes from the business community in Kano, former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday, inaugurated the youth business and investment forum.
The forum, tagged “Youth Business and Investment Forum for Atiku”, attracted various business and investment community, market associations and other stakeholders in trade and commerce across Kano state.
Atiku was represented at the occasion by his special assistant on youth, Ambassador Aliyu Ibn Abbas.
Speaking at the event, the former vice president pledged that if elected, he will unveil effective and holistic mechanisms towards the general overhaul of commercial activities in the ancient city.
According to him, Kano is gradually losing its status as a centre for trade and commerce due to poor condusive atmosphere which keeps making it unattractive for investors.
He noted that commercial activities have been plunged into serious misfortune following absence of government motivation and support for the business community.
He added that the unfortunate condition of businesses in the state has thwarted its rapid socio-ecominc growth as local and foreign investors are being compelled to evade trooping seeking for investment potentials.
The presidential candidate, however solicited the support of stakeholders in trade and commerce in his quest to become the next president.
If emerges victorious, the PDP candidate pledged to adopt a holistic and aggressive approach towards revival of the power sector and resuscitation of ailing industrtre in order to pave the way for the influx of foreign investors.
Atiku also promised to involve youth in the adminstration of his cabinet members and federal appointments
“If I eventually becomes president, I allocate 40 percent of federal appointments for the youth and 30 percent for the women. This initiative will play a vital role towards alleviating poverty and unemployment among the teeming youth”, he further declared.
Beside active involvement of youth in governance, Atiku equally restated his determination to empower them through enrolling them into investment drive.
“I will ensure that 10 youth becomes billionaires in every six months of my tenure while women with business plan will equally be empowered to engage in various business enterprises”, he further added.
The representative of the the PDP presidential candidate also announced the appointment of Alhaji Naziru ‘Yankamaye as the special assistant to Atiku on small and medium business enterprises under the office of the special assistant to the former vice president on youth.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Naziru vowed to evolved effective and eloquent measures to seek support of the Kano business stakeholders for the emergence of the PDP presidential candidate as the next elected president.
