Coalition knocks Governor Ishaku for celebrating birthday in chartered aircraft while Taraba burns

The Governor of Taraba State, Architect Darius Ishaku has taken a hard knock over the celebration of his 68th birthday in a chartered aircraft while insecurity ravages the state.
The Coalition of Democracy Watch in a statement on Sunday described the governor’s action as insensitive to the plight of the people of the state and the nightmare they are passing through.
In a 12 seconds viral video, the governor whose birthday was on July 30th was seen in charted plane with a birthday cake demanding photographs be taken of him. An air hostess brought a knife for the cutting of the cake.
The governor who was seen laughing uncontrollably was wearing a brown Babanriga without a cap.
The Coalition in a statement by its Public Relations Officer, Comrade Joseph Egodo expressed dismay with Governor Ishaku actions who has been out of the state for weeks with some parts of the state under attack of bandits.
According to the statement, the government has left the state in a dire situation in all sectors in the last seven years of his administration.
Nyifiye, Sabongida Kpasimbe and Manya communities in Takum Local Government Area have been under attack with about 21 communities displaced.
Also, Lassandi area of Jalingo, the Taraba State capital and a residence of a doctor with the Federal Medical Centre behind the Catholic Cathedral attacked.
The Member representing Takum I Constituency in Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Garba Ajiya had in a recent press conference in Jalingo stated that 25 villages were sacked by suspected herdsmen in his constituency.
According to him, the situation is uncertain as many people have been displaced.
Ajiya said: “The general situation in the area is terribly bad and I want to thank the churches that have taken in some of the IDPs as well as other spirited individuals who now hosting thousands of other IDPs in relatively safe communities in Takum town and its environs.”
