T-Royal International Schools, Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state held its 2022 graduation ceremony with the launching of its maiden magazine.
Speaking at the ceremony, a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Phsychology, Kaduna State College of Education, Mr. Ayuba U. Yashim said parents/community participation can contribute to education delivery through various channels which include monitoring and teachers attendance and performance, boosting morale of staff, identifying factors contributing to educational problem, among others.
Yashim, said policy makers, educators and others involved in education are seeking way to utilize limited resources efficiently and effectively in order to identify and solve problems in the education sector and to provide quality education for children.
According to him, community participation is not new in education delivery, however, it did not suddenly appear as panacea to solve complex problem related to education.
In her remarks, Mrs Lami Yunana Barde, wife of the executive chairman, Jema’a local government council called on both parents and teachers to work in partnership toward achieving the set educational goals of the children, noting that the children are the leaders of tomorrow.
She advised the children to take advantage of their present age by making themselves available to acquire knowledge, skills, and positive norms during the process of teaching and learning in both the classroom and outside the classroom.
She tasked the teachers to educate the pupils on a curriculum that can help them to learn how to be self-reliant, embrace peace and promote unity, and be useful in society. Those children engage in juvenile delinquencies and are seriously involved in unwanted activities.
Mrs Barde urged the government to give priority to child education in giving way to a cautious and egalitarian society. Where strangers with various useful intentions may wish to settle.
Earlier in his speech, the School Proprietor, Joel Olusayo Adegboyega said the roles of parents in the education of their children is not just looked at from their roles in financial term alone, but wholesomely ranging from being a model, a teacher, a guardian, socially wise and in how they treat and relate with people.
“It is believed that the attitude of any child is rooted in is upbringing. You cannot give what you don’t have which means the parent must be correct in their own character too.” He said
While introducing the maiden magazine; The Royalty, Adegboyega said it was to bring different people from different background together as students, teachers and parents and uniting them together as it used to be in the land before and as a model of togetherness.
Also, the school awarded some prominent personalities with different categories of awards.
Alhaji Bashir Idris (Lifidin Jama’a) was bestowed with the award of Lover of Education and the Face of Royalty, Sanusi Maikudi (Dan Iyan Jama’a); as Business and Political Mentor, Mrs Martina Christopher; as Giant of Ginger, Professor Alexander Kure; as Grassroot Mobilizer, Mrs Linda Lami Barde; as Mother of Less Privileged and Kazanka Comfort as Champion of Rural Development.
