Good Governance: Gombe Governor, Inuwa conferred with Fellowship award by Nigerian Institute of Building

Gombe State Governor,  Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya  has been conferred with a fellowship award by the the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) in recognition of his sterling leadership and contributions to the built environment. 

This was during the Builders Conference/Annual General Meeting, which took place in Akure, Ondo  State. 

The conference, with the theme: The Role of Building Profession in the Maintenance of National Assets”, brought together government functionaries, seasoned industry practitioners,  experienced academics and built environment stakeholders to discuss asset management practices for buildings, skills requirements and frameworks for building assets management,  in addition to the role, development and deployment of building maintenance manual. 

Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, was represented at the occasion by his Special Adviser on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Professor Keftin Namala Amuga, accompanied by the Director General Federal Government Relations Bureau, Mr. Nuhu Sada Laumara and Alhaji Auwal Abdulkadir, Chairman Mile 3 market Gombe. 

While presenting the award insignia to Governor Inuwa Yahaya,  the President of the Nigerian Institute of Building,  Bldr. Professor Yohanna D. Izam, who is also the Vice chancellor of Plateau State University, Bokkos, described the Gombe State Governor as a bridge builder with track record of good governance, prudent financial management and uncompromising posture for excellence in execution of projects.  

Also in attendance was the Ondo state Governor, Ogbeni Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who was also a recipient of the same award. 

Meanwhile,  the Chairman, Gombe State Chapter of the NIOB, Bldr Mahmood Yusuf has congratulated Governor Inuwa for being found worthy for the award, describing the honour as a well- deserved one. 

According to him, “We are proud of this feat and we are happy that we now have the State chief executive as a fellow of the our institute, FNIOB in recognition of his outstanding performance”. 

The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) is the professional body for Builders and those who are about to be engaged in the Building Profession in Nigeria as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe.
