Adamawa union of teachers praises government for meeting their needs

As Adamawa joined World Teachers Day celebration they praised the state government for doing the needful for its teachers.
Speaking during the occasion, the state chairman of the union, Comrade Rodney Nathan commended the Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri as the first Governor to have approved an additional five years for teachers of science and languages.
Nathan says “it is our behalf that you will be the first to implement the elongation for all categories of teachers in the state thereby string another records”.
He said this would not only boost the morale of their members but will equally enhance the living conditions of teachers.
The NUT called for the implementation of a new minimum wage to teachers in primary schools which is being enjoyed by thier counterparts in the post primary schools since 2019.
They also requested that there is the need to implement the promotions to teachers in primary schools, payment of profetional allowances of 27.5 percent to teachers who have acquired the requiait professional qualifications.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri during occasion was represented by SSG Dr Bashir Ahmed said government will look into all the request presented.
The ceremony has some presentation of gift to nine outstanding teachers across the 21 local government areas of the state.
