Plateau Governor, Lalong pledges construction of Yelwa-Ibi highway

Governor Lalong speaks in Wukari, Taraba State during the presentation of staff of office to Aku Uka on Saturday

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has pledged to rehabilitate the road from Yelwa in Plateau State to Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The Governor made the pledge while presenting a Goodwill message during the installation and presentation of staff of office to Aku Uka Manu Ishaku Adda Ali in Wukari.

He said before the end of his tenure the road will be completed where the Taraba State Government is expected to also play it’s parts.

Simon Lalong urged the new Aku Uka Manu Ishaku Adda Ali to work with Non Governmental Organizations to create jobs for youths in Agriculture and entrepreneurship to improve their wellbeing.

The Plateau State Governor also said Aku Uka is coming at a time when insecurity is a major problem facing the nation hence the need for him to mobilize his subjects to protect his Chiefdom for peace, development and progress of the land.

He thanked Governor Darius Ishaku for allowing the wish of the people to prevail in the selection of the new Aku Uka.

Lalong,who is the Director General of the Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council gave goodwill messages on behalf of the APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Northern Governors’ Forum wishing the new Aku Uka a successful and peaceful reign on the throne of his forefathers.
