Gombe State Commissioner of Police, Ishola Babaita has ordered for a full-scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the reported incident of Police personnel aiding the pulling down of political billboards of opposition parties in Gombe.
According to a press release by the PPRO, ASP Mahid Mu'azu Abubakar, "The attention of Gombe State Police Command has been drawn to a video clip that went viral in the Social media on the 24th October, 2022 in which Police officers allegedly provided a cover to some individuals to remove Billboards of certain political parties in the State".
According to him, "the Commissioner of Police, CP Ishola B Babaita is deeply concerned over the alleged incident and has ordered for a full scale investigation into the matter" .
The PPRO added that the Commissioner of Police further assured the public that no stone will be left unturned in respect of the alleged incident while the outcome of Police investigation shall be made public in due course please.
