Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Hajiya Nana Shettima donate N20m, food to Yobe flood victims

APC-WPCT when they donated the relief materials to flood victims

All Progressives Congress, (APC), Women Progressive Campaign Team, (WPCT) has donated cash, food items and relief materials to victims of flood in Yobe State.

Chairperson of WPCT and wife of the presidential candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and wife of the running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima Mustapha, Hajiya Nana Shettima led the delegation.

The women who flew in from Abuja landed at Maiduguri international airport before they travel for 135 kilometres by road to Damaturu.

Chairperson of WPCT, Senator Oluremi Tinubu said, “We found it necessary to visit Yobe State to commiserate with you over the natural disaster that has destroyed livelihoods.

“We sympathized with the victims and prayed that Almighty God averts a recurrence.” She said.

Senator Tinubu made a presentation of N20 million as support to 400 victims of the flood with each expected to have 50,000 naira as support to enable them to recapitalize the small-scale businesses that they were engaged in before the flood disaster.

The delegation also donated food and other relief materials to officials of Yobe state government for onward distribution to the victims respectively.

In his remarks, Governor Mai Mala Buni, appreciated the team for the visit and for the donations. He stressed that the donated cash and food items will go a long way in bringing succour to the victims.

The Women’s campaign delegation which has the wife of the APC vice presidential candidate Hajiya Nana Shettima, as co-chair, also visited the Palace of the Emir of Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimi Ibn El-Kenemi II, where they commiserates with the respected monarch over the recent demise of his son, Abba Sadiq Shehu Hashimi.

It could be recalled that the APC-WPCT has also visited some states and distributed cash and relief materials to flood victims.
