Nigeria Government targets 75,000, trained 50 extension workers in Adamawa

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with the Adamawa State Agricultural Development Programme has trained over 50 agric extension workers on extension tools, methodologies and selected value chains in Adamawa State.
The Chief Agriculture Officer from the ministry, Yakubu Mishelia made this known during the commencement of the training in Yola, Adamawa state.
The training, according Mishelia is organized to build the capacity of extension workers on modern technologies and innovations, aimed at increasing agricultural productivity in the state.
He revealed that, about 75,000 extension workers were targeted across the nation, in order to enhance their capacity and capabilities on modern agricultural technologies and innovations.
The chief Agric officer also explained that, agricultural extension program involved disseminating of new ideas and techniques in order to improve their capacity and productivity.
The program manager, Adamawa state agricultural development programme (ADP), Adamu Alhaji Muazu, expressed appreciation on the overall conduct of the training for the extension workers in the state.
Muazu commended the efforts of the federal ministry of agriculture and rural development for this gesture in the extension workers across the state.
Participants have been urged to step down the knowledge gained from the training to farmers, so as to improve their capacity and productivity level.
