Wife of APC presidential candidate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu donates N50m to 1000 flood victims in Bayelsa

Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Hajiya Nana Shettima when they donate relief materials in Bayelsa State

Senator Oluremi Tinubu has donated N50 million recapitalization fund to one thousand flood victims in Bayelsa state.
She made the donation when she led All Progressives Congress ( APC) Women Presidential Campaign Team ( APC-WPCT) to Bayelsa State.
The delegation was received and conducted round the Internally Displaced People (IDP) camps by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Timipre Sylva.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu paid a courtesy call on the acting traditional ruler of Igbogene, Emperor Osage acting paramount ruler Igbogene who said, ” I, the community and flood victims are thankful for the donation and this is the first delegation to have assisted my people with a donation.”
Similarly, she also paid homage to His Majesty, the Obenibe of Epie kingdom, King (Barr.) Malla Sasime who appreciates the APC Women Presidential Campaign Team, ( APC-WPCT ) who said, ” This community is happy with the visit and the donation to flood victims in the state and wished your delegation safe return back to their destinations.”
Leader of the APC-WPCT, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who is also the wife of the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu said, ” APC-WPCT in is the IDP donates N50,000 each to 1000 individuals to recapitalize your small scale businesses.”
“We are in these camps to commiserate with the victims over the flood incident which has affected 80 percent of communities.
“This is not a political visit, but to identify with you in the moment of need, we are praying that the state will not witness such natural disasters again.” Said Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
It could be recalled that Bayelsa is one of the states worst hit by the flood with seven out of the eight local government areas affected by the disaster. Thousands of buildings and farmlands are submerged due to flood leaving many households and individuals in IDP camps.
The delegation provided food and non food items, while a medical outreach was provided to the victims.
Cash gifts were donated to some nursing mothers who were receiving treatment at the camps under the medical facility provided by the APC-WPCT.
The chairperson of APC-WPCT had on her entourage the wife of the APC vice presidential candidate Hajiya Nana Shettima; wife of the Minister of State, Petroleum, Mrs Alanyingi Sylva and the national coordinator of the APC-WPCT, Dr Asabe Vilita Bashir.
