Excitement is when a person is happy knowing that he or she is set for achieving a goal in his or her life. But excitement can also have its side effect or disadvantage when it turns sour.
There are so many spheres in which one can be excited or happy and politics can be one of them. In fact, there are those who so love politics that they throw caution to the wind and so make costly mistakes along the way.
Agreed there are certain mistakes that surface due to some carelessness and others that come from those who want to impress or tend to be overzealous to the extend that there are those who will be against it and those who will admire it.
Caught in such web of anxiety is the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Senator Aishatu Ahmed Dahiru Binani.
In the primary poll, the candidate who floored seven others including a former chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Malam Nuhu Ribadu and other notables is not a happy woman.
First, the Federal High Court sitting in Yola the Adamawa state capital stopped her from parading as the APC Governorship candidate and the party at the national level disowned her position as the coordinator of the Presidential team in the state.
Her sin is that she never consulted with executive members of the party at the state level neither is she to have solely picked those who will coordinate the Presidential campaign nor preside over meetings.
Her travails did not end there but she has to wait for the courts to take decisions on her fate.
At the party’s Secretariat recently one of the key exco member on being asked to comment on a vehicle parked on an vicinity and a billboard along Mohammed Mustapha Way with pictures of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate, Abubakar Atiku, herself and some notable politicians not the party candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Exco member blurted out “that is anti-party activity” meaning she is not totally with the party.
In politics especially in developing countries, politics of smear abound more so that a woman is leading the park. The burden is heavy on her and will her travails end soon? No one knows as politics is full of intrigues and wonders.
