Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Sanga Local Government chapter in Kaduna State have passed a vote of no confidence on a section of security agencies in the area aside the military and urged to desist from the unwholesome behavior of taking sides in conflicts between farmers and herders in the Local Government Area.

This was part of the resolutions reached at the end of a summit by pastors, following what they termed “the destruction of crops, machetting and indiscriminate killing of Christians across Sanga Local government area”.

While reading the communiquè signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Association to newsmen shortly after presenting a copy of the communiquè to the offices of the Council Chairman and the Forward Operating Base of Operation Safe Haven in the Gwantu on Tuesday, the CAN Secretary in the area, Apostle Silas Z. Dabo, lamented that the conflict between pastoralists and farmers has since become a merchandise and easy path to opulence by some section of the security in the local government.

He explained that the whole situation has left farmers helpless and aggravate the situation and appealed to the higher authorities to investigate the alleged favouritism and lack of justice no matter whose oaks is gord.

The summit also advocated that cattle grazing should be halted at the commencement of every farming season until the end of harvest, just as it was the practice decades ago.

The Association maintained that they will continue to prevail on the Christendom to desist from resorting to violence in solving the issue, rather, the should make deliberate efforts to always give a chance.

The Communiqué adds that the association would make deliberate efforts to always give peace a chance as it stands hard against any attempt by its people to usher in any breakdown of law and order.

They also discussed issues bothering the forthcoming general elections which they alleged that plans are on to deny most of them who are yet to collect their permanent voter’s card access to them, thereby denying them the right to actively participate in choosing who should lead them.
