Association of LG chairmen in Nasarawa calls on Governor to improve power supply

ALGON chairman in Nasarawa State and chairman of Lafia local government, Aminu Muazu Maifata

The Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria, (ALGON) in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Aminu Maifata has called on Governor Abdullahi Sule to intervene in the lingering epileptic electricity supply in the state to provide succour to the people.

Alhaji Maifata, who is also chairman of Lafia local government area, made the call during a campaign rally for the re – election of Governor Abdullahi Sule in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.

The ALGON Chairman said, ” The call became imperative following persistent decline of electricity in most local government headquarters across the state few months after inauguration of the 330 KVA Power Transmission Substation by President Muhammadu Buhari in Akurba, near Lafia.”

Alhaji Maifata expressed worry that the poor supply of electricity had led to rise in job loss as according to him, most youths who rely on power for their trade were becoming idle hence the need for the governor to urgently take steps to improve the situation.

He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for matching words with action on providing infrastructure in his over three years in office especially the construction of roads within the Lafia metropolis.

Chairman Abdullahi Sule Campaign Council, Senator Abubakar Sodangi assured supporters of APC in the state that a vote for Senator Bola Tinubu as President and Abdullahi Sule for second term as Nasarawa State Governor will bring uncommon economic reforms considering their prospects in revenue generation and good governance.
