Hon. Danladi Baido is tops of Taraba governorship candidates
By Samuel Torlumun
Three days into the distribution of the Permanent Voter Card (PVC) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across the country, the governorship of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Taraba State, Hon. Danladi Baido has urged electorates in the state to ensure they quickly collect their cards.
Apart from collecting the cards, Hon. Baido also appealed to voters to safeguard it until the time for voting and exercise their civic rights.
The leading governorship candidate made the remarks in a statement issue on Wednesday by his Special Assistant on Media, Anthony Maliki.
He urged the people of the state not to be lukewarm in approaching the distribution centres in their local governments to receive their voter cards.
According to him, the PVC is their power which they would exercise in voting the Social democratic Party at all levels in the state and Nigeria at large.
Hon. Baido stressed that 2023 governorship elections in Taraba State will be a turning point in the history of the state as the SDP is poised to occupy the Government House on a clear victory.
As such, the issue of collection of PVC must be taken very seriously.
He also noted that the electorates must acknowledge that the 2023 elections will be unique because the deployment of BVAS machine for vote will greatly curb rigging saying “Votes will now count.”
The governorship candidate reminded the people of the state not to be deceived by the antics of other parties but to vote the SDP all through.
Hon. Baido also urged his teeming supporters across the state of the need to maintain decorum in their campaigns and not to destroy billboards and posters of other parties.
