Kaduna PDP governorship candidate vows to tackle insecurity within first year in office

Kaduna PDP governorship candidate, Isa Ashiru Kudan

The Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Kaduna state, Isa Ashiru Kudan has pledged to tackle insecurity in the state in his first year in office if given the mandate.

Ashiru made the promise at an interface with Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SCKLA) in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government headquarters in the state.

He said with sincerity and honesty on the part of those at the helm of affairs, the issue of insecurity can be resolved.

According to him, it was important to secure and unite the state as there could be no development without peace.

He also promised to be fair and equitable in the distribution of projects across the state.

The governorship hopeful added that he would set up a committee to review the mass sack of civil servants by the present administration.

Speaking earlier, SKCLA chairman, Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, said the meeting was convened to allow candidates who could not make it to the initial interface held in September to avail themselves to the electorates.

Kure explained that the engagements with the governorship candidates will enable the Church make informed decision on the candidate to support in the forthcoming 2023 elections.

“The essence of the meeting is to hear how they intend to govern Kaduna State as it affects Southern Kaduna.

“This is an opportunity to meet other candidates who could not make it to the first meeting due to one reason or the other.

“We are here to ask questions that will decide our collective future,’’ Kure said.

He listed agriculture, education, infrastructure, health, traditional institution, political appointments and security as areas the candidates were expected to highlight.

According to him, the Christian leaders will aggregate the feedback from its members at the end of the meeting and then take a position.

Other candidatea who attended the meeting included; Hayatuddeen Lawal Makarfi of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) and Caleb Zagi of the African Democratic Party.
