The FCT NUJ Council on Wednesday inaugurated a 5-member committee for its 2018 election.
Inaugurating the committee, the acting chairman of the council, Mr Primus Khanoba charged the committee members to be transparent and dedicated in the discharge of their duties.
Khanoba said that the executive expects the committee to refer to the constitution to set up guidelines for the election.
According to him, as professionals, we should be law abiding and abide by the rules making sure that the constitution of the association is followed.
“I congratulate you and convey to you the high consideration of the State Executive Council of the FCT NUJ.
“By this inauguration, your nomination as a member of the Credentials Committee for the forthcoming State Council election has been approved by Council in line with Article 9 (a-e) of NUJ Constitution, ‘’ he said.
Responding on behalf of the committee, Ruth Tene Natsa of Leadership Newspaper and secretary of the committee thanked the council for finding the members worth for the task.
She promised that members would abide by the NUJ constitution, ensure transparent, credible and acceptable election.
Other members of the committee included: Mr. Henry Umoru, Vanguard Newspapers, Mr Olawale Alabi – News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Nnamdi Iwuchukwu – Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Abdulrahaman Zakariyau – Blueprint.(NAN)
