My dear people of Taraba State,
I bring to you good tidings at this great moment in time in our journey as a state and as a people knitted together by God within this geographical space.
Every outgoing year brings sober reflection of its achievements, challenges and the need to take stock and find new ways to better the situation where we have faulted. And 2022 is no exception.
I sincerely appreciate you all for the outgone year 2022 despite our individual and collective challenges. I share with you the economic difficulties of the past year as families and communities were drown in its trials. The insecurity and other issues that bedevil us cannot be easily wished away but we shall overcome with perseverance and unity of purpose. I salute your determination in going through these hard times and hope 2023 promises a new dawn in all sectors.
General elections
As you may be all aware, 2023 presents another election circle in the history of Nigeria with its attendant anxiety and concerns. However, I implore you to be focus and unwavering in the quest for a new Taraba State in particular and Nigeria in general.
The election will no doubt be a turning in the life of Taraba State and its peoples as the fortunes of the state is in your hands. We are witnesses to the misrule, tyranny and injustice amongst others of the outgoing administration taking the state many steps backwards in development, direction and path to success. This we must correct to take the state to an enviable height. It is appalling to fine the state very static and stunted among states they are created together. This is unacceptable.
Collection of PVC
As the general elections start on February 25, 2023 with the presidential and national assembly polls and the governorship and houses of assembly election on March 11, 2023, I urge you all once more to make haste to collect your Permanent Voter Card (PVC) to enable you perform your civic responsibility by voting leaders of your choice. You must never make the mistake of voting people that will further plunge you into more penury and misery. I urge you to vote wisely.
Vote SDP
On the Taraba State governorship election, I implore you to be very dispassionate and take a deeper, closer and critical look at all the candidates in the race. I am convinced I present a better candidature to lead the state to greater heights with my unblemished acceptability across all the sects and creed in the state. Also, my emergence on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was without rancour unlike in other political parties that are plagued with litigation and bickering.
Therefore, I urge you not only vote for me to occupy the Government House, Jalingo in 2023 but all other SDP candidates at all levels for sustained governance and focus administration. However, in doing so, let me again appeal to all our teeming supporters across the state to exercise restraint and to shun any form of violence before, during and after the elections. The SDP is not a party of miscreants but as we deserve a peaceful election.
The SDP is a platform of equity, justice and fairness for all. Together we shall form an all-inclusive government and this time, our votes will count. We must not be deceived by the notion our votes will be wasted as the BVAS machine introduced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is a game-changer the forthcoming elections. I salute INEC for this innovation which would give our elections credibility.
As we usher in 2023, I wish all Tarabans hope, a peaceful and prosperous new year full of good tidings for all.
