Anambra Governor, Soludo felicitates with former Commonwealth Secretary General, Anyaoku at 90

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has congratulated Chief Emeka Anyaoku, the Adazie Obosi, and former Commonwealth Secretary General, who clocked ninety years of age on Wednesday, January eighteen, 2023.

The Governor in his congratulatory message described Chief Anyaoku as an astute and experienced diplomat, who has demonstrated immense capacity to duty with outstanding achievements worthy of commendation.

In a release by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, he noted that attaining the age of ninety was worthy of celebration and immense gratitude to God Almighty for His grace and protection.

Governor Soludo added that the former Secretary General of the Commonwealth has remained a reliable and dutiful man, who has meritoriously served both at the global stage, the nation and his immediate community.

Prof. Soludo further recalled the various developmental programmes executed during his tenure as the commonwealth helmsman, particularly the exceptional roles he played in the struggle for freedom, justice and democracy in the continent of Africa and across the globe.

While wishing the celebrant many blissful years ahead, the Governor prayed God to grant him good health and wisdom to continue to render more selfless services to humanity. 

Meanwhile, The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Hon. Uche Okafor has described the former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku as the pride of the African Nations at the International Community.

Felicitating Chief Anyaoku on his ninetieth birthday, Right Hon. Okafor noted that the elder statesman discharged his duties at the Commonwealth creditably and was recognized by various organs of the International Community.

The Speaker extolled the advisory roles played by Chief Anyaoku in Nigeria and Anambra State in particular where he has continued to use his wealth of experience to advance good governance.

He maintained that despite Chief Anyaoku’s foreign engagements and education, he remains a true Igbo man, adding that the nineteen communities in Idemili had honoured him with the chieftaincy title of Ugwumba Idemili as their illustrious son.

Right Hon. Okafor prayed to God to continue to strengthen Chief Anyaoku and give him longevity and the grace to continue his service to God and humanity.
