Abdulsalam at 83: Let’s celebrate a consequential hero of Nigerian democracy – Kebbi Governor Idris

Kebbi State Governor Comrade Nasir Idris has joined other international and Nigerian leaders in celebrating the 83rd birthday anniversary of former Nigeria’s military head of state, General Abdulsalam Abubakar.
In a congratulatory message, signed by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Idris Zuru, Governor Idris described the former military head of state as a globally recognised and exceptionally respected champion of democracy in a hitherto volatile African country.
He explained that General Abdulsalam resisted several unsuccessful threats and blackmail from within and outside the country, and peacefully handed over the country to a democratic governance.
Comrade Idris further declared that ” it is this your patriotic and selfless sacrifice that resulted to an uninterrupted 26 years of productive democratic governance”
He added that it was General Abdulsalam’s uncommon doggedness which was unlike of military leaders that strengthen the pride of Nigeria in commity of nations which resulted to his consideration for international and sub-reginal assignments across the globe.
While praying for longevity and sound health and Allah’s continuous guidance and blessings to General Abdulsalam, Comrade Nasir advised the Nigerian Armed forces and indeed in the sub-Saharan to not only celebrate the consequential Nigerian democratic hero, but also emulate his record of selflessness service and promotion of democracy.
Governor Idris concluded that General Abdulsalam’s birthday anniversary that happened to coincided with the Nigeria’s celebrations of Democracy day will be a blessing to the nation’s democratic development.
