Abuja Catholic women celebrates 2025 Day
Catholic women in Abuja have stressed their commitment to promoting the spiritual, social and economic well being of Abuja women through vocational skills training and care for widows and the vulnerable.
President, Catholic Women Organization (CWO), Kubwa Chairperson, Princess (Dr.) Joan Jummai Idonijie JP, revealed this at the Abuja Archdiocese 2025 Day celebration in Kubwa at the weekend, said their 10 strategic zones coordinate grassroots efforts and promote unity.
Rev. Fr. Victor Makinwa Ogunyemi, the Archdiocesan Chaplain, Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria, Abuja Archdiocese (CWOAA), at the event, called on women to continue to play the role of mothers in the family and the church, let them continue to support the work of God.
He said as backbone of the family, their roles cannot be replaced by anybody, their large army of numbers should be tools of change for the society, and have a sense of purpose, like politics if given the chance.
On her part, Nneoma (Mrs.)Ebele Lilian Okoye, said CWOAA is celebrating the day as mothers have a lot of responsibilities to the family, church and society at large.
“No matter how the economy is biting, women should stand firm to their faith, that the country is hard should not allow us to lose focus, we should go back to the family,” she said.
The event climaxed in the presentation of awards, award of excellence in humanitarian service and pride of mothers award, to distinguished women and men whose recognition are meaningful and significant, not only for the honour they bring, but because they inspire continued service, bridge communities, and affirm the power of virtue-driven impact.
