The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) received with profound sadness the news of the passing of former President, Muhammadu Buhari.

This was contained in a statement by
President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu.

ACCI joins the entire nation in mourning a resolute leader, statesman, and disciplined patriot whose unwavering dedication to Nigeria’s unity and development will remain indelibly etched in our national history.

According to the statement, during his tenure, former President Buhari demonstrated an uncommon commitment to fostering public-private sector collaboration and institutional strengthening.

Obegolu stressed that his administration consistently engaged with the Chamber and the organised private sector, integrating ACCI recommendations into national policies and reforms aimed at boosting economic growth.

“Notably, his pivotal role in the commissioning of the ACCI Business and Exhibition Complex was a landmark moment in the history of the Chamber movement in Nigeria, a testament to his belief in creating enabling environments for businesses to thrive,” the President noted.

He pointed out that”We also remember his administration’s social investment initiatives, such as the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Program (GEEP), N-Power, and others, which significantly supported Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), created jobs, and reduced poverty.”

The President said, ACCI, in solidarity with the nation, has lowered its flags in mourning and reflection on his invaluable contributions to Nigeria’s progress.

ACCI extended its heartfelt condolences to the Buhari family, his close associates, and all Nigerians as it prays for the repose of his soul.
