Accident Victims Support Initiative, Ochefu Foundation donate to IDPs in Benue

A Non-Governmental Organization, Twenty-four hours Road Accident Victims Support Initiative, (TRAVSI) in collaboration with Ochefu Foundation, (ODF) has donated relief materials to theTse Yandev IDP camp along University of Agriculture road, Makurdi.

Items donated Include Indomie noodles, toiletries, sanitary pads,clothes and books for teaching children of school age in the camp.

Presenting the items to the IDPs the Chief Executive Officer of TRAVSI, Gaddafi Asemanya said the donation is to ameliorate the hardships of the IDPs occasioned by the criminal activities of herdsmen in some parts the state.

Mr Asemanya called on government at all levels, elite and other corporate organisations to come to the aid of the IDPs whom he described their situation as pathetic and in dire need of help.

Also speaking the Project Coordinator of Ochefu Foundation, Sor Dooter said the donation was to contribute their quota to the well-being of the Internally displaced persons and prayed for peace to enable them return back to their homes.

Receiving the items camp manager, Gabriel Yev thanked the NGOs for their show of love and assured the donation would be use for the purpose it was meant.

Mr Yev who stated that the camp has over ten thousand registered IDPs solicited for free medicare from both government and private hospitals for the IDPs most of whom he said are down with malaria, cough and cattarh.
