Adaeze Club,Oba distributes 100 walking aids to physically-challenged persons

A non- governmental organisation Adaeze Club of Oba in Idemili South Council Area of Anambra State has distributed very one hundred wheelchairs, walkers and crushes to physically challenged persons in Oba.
The Adaeze Club distributed the items during their free medical outreach for the elderly and the indigent people in Oba as part of their Christmas legumes to indigent people in Oba held at Oba Civic Center in Idemili south local government area.
Our correspondent who covered the event and reports that the beneficiaries were selected from the nine villages in Oba through Oba Women Patriotic Union, Inyom Oba and women meetings in the nine villages to ensure right beneficiaries.
Presenting an address of welcome, the President of Adaeze Club Oba, Dr. Ngozi Nwosu represented by her Vice, Mrs. Amaka Onwughalu said that the Adaeze Club is made up of accomplished women in esteemed position from all walks of life and was formed in 2019 with the objectives of helping other credible groups in Oba, execute capacity programs, value re- orientation and educational development programs for the youths among others.
In their remarks, the new President General of Oba Patriotic Union, OPU, Rev. Chris Emelie who also represented the Oba Regent, Chief Nuel Ezenwa and the President Inyom Oba, Dame Janet Okeke commended the Adaeze Club for adding value to the lives of indigent ones in the Community, describing it as true love and service to humanity and urged them not to relent.
On her part, one of the members of the Club, lady Chinwe Onwupenata who noted that the medical outreach was the first outing of the Club said that the Adaeze Club aimed at reaching disadvantaged individuals in Oba and pledged the support of the Club to the activities of the Regent in- council and the OPU towards the overall development of Oba.
While another member of the club Lady Ngozi Agbasimalo in a vote of thanks appreciated all that contributed to the success of the event, regretting that COVID- 19 pandemic stalled lots of programs they have for Oba people but thanked God that their first outing was a huge success, advising the beneficiaries to make good use of the items.
Some of the beneficiary’s Messers Goziem Emeodi, Arinze Okafor, OBIORA Esimoneze and Mrs. Lilian Nwankwo thanked the Adaeze Club for their gesture and prayed for God’s blessings on them.
Doctor Ngozi Chukwuka gave them health talk on causes of some sickness especially among the elderly and how to prevent them Handing over of the items to the beneficiaries and chanting of solidarity songs formed the highpoints of the event.
