Adamawa gets new Grand Khadi

Following the retirement of the Grand Khadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal, the Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has sworn in Hon Musa Hassan Baza as the new Acting Grand Khadi of the state with a call on him to discharge his duties based on the constitutional provision of the country.
Governor Finitiri who was represented by his Deputy Chief Crowther Seth, however said the contribution of the outgone Grand Khadi will remain indelible and will also serve as a reference point in the legal profession.
He further called on the new Acting grand khadi to emulate the footstep of his predecessor by doing the needful for the overall interest and development of the state.
Chief Seth who made the remark Wednesday during the swearing in of the Acting grand khadi at the deputy governor’s office in Yola, talso appreciated the role of the judiciary in the country.
The deputy dovernor maintained that the government of Adamawa State under the leadership of Governor Fintiri will remain law-abiding and will always act within the ambit of the law.
Governor Finitiri thereafter called on the people of the state to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 rules in order to curb the spread of the pandemic.
Earlier in his acceptance speech, Hon Baza thanked Governor Finitiri for finding him worthy of such an appointment.
He pledged to abide by the the rule of law and also appreciated members of the judiciary for standing by him.
The Oath of Alligence and Judicial Oath was administered by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Ishaya Banu.
The programme which was witnessed by top government functionaries such as the Secretary to the State Government, Bashiru Ahmad, the Head of Service, Dr Edgar Amos, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister A.K. Jingi, Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Hon Adamu Atiku, Commissioner of Finance, Dr Ishaya Dabari, Hon Steven Maduwa, Chairman of Michika Local Government Area and permanent secretaries among others.
