Adamawa Governor Fintiri calls on forest workers to assist fish out kidnappers from forests

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri Monday called on members of Adamawa State branch of Forestry Protection, Timber Contractors and Madrid Producers Union to assist government in tackling kidnappings in the state.

The Governor who made the call when he received the new leadership of the union in the government House, Yola explained that the menace of kidnappings and other security threats in the state will soon be over as government is on top of the situation.

He however enjoined the union members to complement government’s effort by reporting kidnappers and all other miscreants whenever they come in contact with them in the forest so that Adamawa will continue to have peace and security.

Governor Fintiri congratulated the new officials for taking office and urged them to work hard with sincerity and fear of God in tandem with wish and aspirations of their members and then assured them support of government at all times.

He advocated for the group to collaborate with the state ministry of Commerce and Industry for robust development in terms of trading its produce so that the state will record unprecedented economic progress.

Earlier in his remark, the President of the union, Alhaji Sani Yahaya said the group was in the government house Yola to intimate Governor Fintiri its new state leadership following a successful election conducted this week.

The President said the union has about 17,000 youths gainfully working under it and assured that the members will continue to rally round the Fintiri led administration in the state.

The new officials of the group include Alhaji Sani Yahaya President, Saidu Umaru Vice President, Umaru Mohammed Secretary, while Abubakar Hammanjoda and Mohammed Bashir Public Relations Officer one and two respectively.

Others include Mohammed Bashir Adamu Discipline officer, Mohammed Adamu Financial Secretary, Abubakar Mohammed Ten-Ten vice chairman northern zone and Umaru Abdu Chairman Taskforce.

The rest are Ibrahim Bulama Shariff Assistant Chairman Taskforce, Hussain Jauro Auditor, Daniel John Assistant Auditor, Kabiru Shettima Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Babango Patron and Barrister Hamman Julde legal adviser.
