Adamawa Governor, Fintiri flags-off better education service in state

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri Saturday officially flagged off the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) in the state aimed at improving education sector in line with policy of the present administration.
Similarly, Governor Fintiri declared open a mini summit on basic education delivery with the theme “Sustaining BESDA activities in Adamawa State beyond 2020.”

The Governor during the event at the Banquet Hall Government House, Yola said the state has so far yielded positive results on implementation of the Universal Basic Education (UBE).
He added that the objectives of BESDA was in line with the educational policy of the present administration which is why barely two months in office, he directed the implementation of activities prior to any support from BESDA.
He said state government is implementing free education at both basic and post basic levels and accessible to all and has a deliberate plan to clear the over 239, 000 out- of-school children in Adamawa by 2021.
According to him, a total of 51, 205 girls and almajiris were enrolled from 12 local governments and will be retained for nine months before they are reintegrated and incentives are already provided to parents and the children assuring of more results in the near future.
Contributing, the National Coordinator of BESDA, Professor Gidado Tahir said the programme has so far yielded positive results in the focal 17 states of the country.
