Adamawa Governor Fintiri inspects coronavirus Yola isolation centre

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday paid an assessment visit to the newly established Isolation Facility in the State Specialist Hospital, Yola for any eventuality of Coronavirus known as COVIC-19 in the state.

The visit by the Governor came after directive to the state ministry of health by government to set up the facility to forestall the outbreak of the disease in Adamawa as the epidemic has become a global concern.

Governor Fintiri while speaking to journalist shortly after the visit, revealed that the state is well prepared to tackle any case of COVID nineteen as the facility is fully equipped with the state of the art equipment to that effect.

According to the Governor, the ministry on its part is enlightening the general public on measures to be taken against the disease through self protective steps for the overall health benefit of the people.

He stressed that government will use the available resources within its disposal to protect the lives of the citizenry as healthcare will continue to receive adequate attention by the present administration.

On his part, the Medical Director, Specialist Hospital, Yola Doctor Dauda Wadinga said preparations have been made to equip the centre with monitors, eighteen bed capacity and a full geared ambulance.

Doctor Wadinga advised the public to be careful with contact of the disease and avoid sitting in an enclosed place with people who have symptoms and ensure they wash their hands on regular basis.
