Adamawa NLC chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe
By Joseph Adahnu, Yola
Adamawa State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has joined its counterpart across the country to protest over the hardship Nigerians are passing through as result of government policies.
The NLC state chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Fashe handed over the union’s letter of demands to the State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
He said that the federal government policies are puting Nigerians into more hardship, sufferings and make life difficult for civil servants to operate.
Fashe reasoned that the protest was carried out in low key in the state to avoid what happened in the state where miscreants came out in their numbers and looted government warehouses and properties of some individuals.
Governor Fintiri who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Amos Edgar who received them commended the union for the orderly manner they conducted themselves during the protest.
The Governor promised that the state government will do everythingthing within its powers to bring succour to the people of the state who are passing through hardship as a result of fuel subsidy removal.
In order to have a smooth protest, the Commissioner of Police Adamawa State Command, Afolabi Babatola, with the compliance with IGP’s directives deployed adequate security to avert any breakdown of law and order.
