Adamawa Police set to begin one-week shooting range exercise

Plans are set for Adamawa State Police Command to exercise a one-week shooting range been part of preparadness for the Biennial Police Games, Asaba 2026.
In a statement issued by the Police Image Maker, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said, the training will take place at the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) Base along Mubi Road in Girei Local Government Area.
The Command therefore call on all residents in and around NAS Radio Station, Sangere (FUTY), Federal Housing Estate, Hayin Gada, and neighbouring communities are been advised to stay away from the vicinity during the period of the exercise.
According to the police, “we are urging members of the public not to panic at the sound of gunshots, noting that the noises will be part of a planned and controlled training activities.
The state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, expressed appreciation to the people of Adamawa for their understanding and cooperation, while reaffirming the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
The exercise is being scheduled to run from January 21 to January 29, 2026, between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily.
