Adamawa Polytechnic set to run 7 degree programmes

Plans have been completed for Adamawa state Polytechnic to run seven
degree programme commencing in the 2021/2022 session.
The degree programmes are Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business
Education, Economics, English and Literature, Mass Communication and
public Administration.
This is coming as the Board for Technical Education (NBTE) were at the
polytechnic this year for resource verification for the mounting of
five new proposed programmes.
This includes Higher National Diploma HND SLT, Biochemistry Option,
National Diploma in Architectural Technology, National Diploma
Building Technology, and National Diploma in Library and Information
Science.
Speaking, the Rector of Institution, Prof. Ibrahim Umar disclosed this
at the commissioning of TETFUND physical Infrastructural projects at
the Polytechnic.
Umr said, ‘’we have graciously succeeded in initiating and executing
successfully many TETFUND intervention ranging from academic and
physical infrastructure.’’
Prof. Ibrahim Umar lauded the magnanimous gesture of the Governor
Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for releasing amount to the tune of N10 million
as assistance for the accreditation and resource inspection of the
programmes, saying that TETFUND has so far expended about N1 Billion
in the execution of the projects.
The Rector however appealed to the Governor to grant an approval to
employ not less than 70 academic staff in the vacuum created as a
result of withdrawal of service of some staff.
Performing the commissioning of the project, Governor Fintiri charged
the students of the Polytechnic to be of good behaviour from now
henceforth.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was represented by the commissioner
for Ministry for Tertiary and Professional Education, Dr. Dishi Khobi
where he recalled the ugly destruction by the students early this year
where property worth N300 milion were vandalised during the rampage.
He charged the students that hooliganisms of such will never be
tolerated, warned that any student that is not ready for study can
find an alternative, though also pledged to ensure more TETFUND
projects are would be approved for the Institution.
During the ceremony, it featured the ground braking of some notable
projects earmarked to be executed by the Institution.
