Adamawa supplementary election: INEC distributes sensitive, non-sensitive materials

The Independent Electorial
Commission (INEC) in Adamawa State has distributed sensitive and non-sensitive related materials for supplementary election.

During the dstribution, two INEC national commissioners, Professor Abdullahi Abdulzuru and Dr. Baba Bola were present to supervise the handing over of the materials to electoral officers.

Speaking to Journalist at INEC headquarters, the Resident Electorial Commissioner, Barrister Hudu Yunusa Ari said all is set and he hopped for a peaceful election.

He said, “as you can see, all sensetive and non sensetive materials have been dispatched to show preparedness so as to get to the destinations in good time”.

Ari noted that, their preparedness is to conduct elections in 69 polling units in the 36,935 regtered voters all over the state and will conduct free, fair and conducive atmosphere.

REC also stated that, in other to ensure our readiness, ” we had stakeholders meetings including sister agencies in the state for the supplimentery election in these areas.

Responding to question, REC also said the supplementary election cut across all the registered candidates of the political parties who participated in the 18 Marth election.

He pledged that “peoples vote will always count.”

INEC environment is as peaceful as just little securities presence around INEC office compared to the last main elections.

Adamawa state police command in collaboration with other sister security agencies are placed on alert to deal with any group (s) of miscreants who may be planning to do any act capable of threatening the peace of state or disrupt any electoral process.

The Command’s operational/Manpower logistics are on high frequency to sustain the design security template in keeping Adamawa Electorates and INEC Materials Secured.

In statement signed by the comman spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje made available to this medium advised the citizen to report any suspicious movement around their neighborhood to Police.

He urged them to shun all forms of violence and be law abiding during and after the elections also called on all citizen to cooperate with the security agents deployed and submit themselves for searching if need be, he assured.

Our correspondent reports that, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) are making the businesses of the day as over hundreds of the vehicles have been engaged for the transmission of electoral materials to respective areas.
