Chief Kalu Idika Okwara

Good Governance Initiative, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State to adopt Chief Kalu Idika Okwara a consensus candidate in the 2023 governorship election.
The Deputy Director General of the group, Iroha Awa made the call in Calabar while speaking with journalists.
He said Okwara is credible and about the most qualified of all the aspirants who is prepared for the Governorship.
“We need someone with a track record that is capable of transforming Abia State.”
Awa said Okwara meets much of the conditions being a seasoned technocrat.
“In our strong opinion, somebody who, by right and constitutionally, should fly the flag of PDP come 2023 is Kalu Idika.
“He is from Ohafia in Abia North. Who else is better than him? We are convinced that he can reshape and return Abia to its economic prominence. Adopting him therefore as consensus candidate will bring Abia to desired socioeconomic status.”
The group argued that Ohafia clan has never produced governor of this state.
They appealed that Okwara be adopted as sole candidate if PDP must win the election.
They also claimed that Ohafia played very prominent role in midwifing emergence of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and has given him 100 per cent support.
