Advocacy for Positive Behavioural Patterns Initiative is gravely concerned about the escalating trend where young women, enticed by the promise of opulence, find themselves ensnared in relationships with individuals involved in illegal activities such as “yahoo yahoo” or “yahoo plus.”

Recent incidents underscore the alarming reality that many young women, in pursuit of a luxurious lifestyle, unwittingly become victims of relationships built on questionable foundations.

This was contained in a statement by Advocacy for Positive Behavioural Patterns Initiative/spokesperson, Stellamaris Isikwe, to Apex News Exclusive on Saturday.

According to the statement, the key implication of this pervasive issue is that countless girls are losing their lives, not only emotionally but also facing severe legal consequences due to the illicit activities of their partners.

Advocacy for Positive Behavioural Patterns Initiative underscores the pressing need for urgent intervention.

“We aim to raise awareness about the risks associated with pursuing material wealth at the expense of personal integrity. Our advocacy emphasizes the importance of promoting values that prioritize education, self-reliance, and ethical conduct over the fleeting allure of ill-gotten gains.

“The stories emerging from these distressing situations highlight the critical need for comprehensive education and awareness programs targeting young women,” the Initiative said.

Advocacy for Positive Behavioural Patterns Initiative, however, called upon society to unite in creating an environment that fosters personal growth, values, and resilience.

It noted that “together, we can safeguard the aspirations and well-being of our young women, preventing further loss of lives as victims of this alarming trend.”
