AIG decorates 39 as Cross River Governor, Otu charges policemen on citizens rights

Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has charged policemen in the country to be professional in their duties and must also respect and protect the rights of citizens.
Otu made the charge when he decorated newly promoted police escort commander and other officers attached to him.
They were promoted from the rank of Inspectors to Assistants Superintendent of Police II (ASP II).
The newly promoted officers are Oliver Muta’a, Audu Garba, Nadum Doodoo, Arit Ogidi, Atim Omini, Victor Effiong, Lawrence Sunday and Obeten Effiom.
Otu said, ” I charged you to be humble in your elevation and always ensure that you respect the rights of other citizens as enshrined in the constitution of Nigeria
“Wearing a new rank has added more responsibilities to your daily duties. This confirms the saying that “to whom much is given, much is expected”.
Similarly, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 6 Calabar, Jonathan Towuru also 39 decorated thirty-nine newly promoted Assistant Superintendents of Police with their new ranks.
Represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Admin, DCP Abayomi Shogunle, charged them to reciprocate the gesture by exhibiting high professionalism, civility to members of the public and respect for human rights.

Appreciating the promotions on behalf of her colleagues, ASP Lucy Ejuba promised to redouble their efforts to justify the confidence reposed in them.
