The Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Zone 14 Command, Aliyu Abubakar Musa led a high-level delegation of police leadership to offer condolences to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on the passing of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Baribari.
AIG Musa, in his condolence message said, “Mother’s love is unmatched. Even as a grown man, I remember sitting on my mother’s lap, and no matter her age, she would still cook my favorite meals—just to remind me of her care. To lose a mother is to lose a part of oneself.”
This was contained in a statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina State.
The senior police officer particularly urged Governor Radda, on the importance of family during grief, “Sir, I urge you to stay close to your uncles and aunties. In moments of grief, one may ask, ‘What is my purpose now that Hajiya is gone?’ But as a scholar of Islam, you know the importance of kinship. Keep visiting them; it strengthens family ties.”
In addition to the condolence message, the AIG Musa, who was the immediate past Commissioner of Police in Katsina, formally introduced Alhaji Bello Shehu, the new Commissioner of Police for Katsina State to the governor.
“I have thoroughly briefed him on your priorities—particularly your unwavering focus on security. He is fully prepared to serve under your directive,” he stated.
AIG Musa further intimated the new Commissioner of Police, “The people of Katsina hold their safety in the highest regard. Safeguard their lives and property with diligence.”
The Deputy Governor of Katsina State responded with a vote of thanks, noting, “We extend our appreciation for your presence here today to condole with the family,” he said,
“May Allah reward you abundantly for this gesture of brotherhood,” Deputy Governor Jobe prayed.
