AIG Okunlola arrives Zone 6, decorates 14 officers

Assistant Inspector General of Police, Kamaldeen Kola Okunlola has resumed duties at the zone six police command Calabar.
A statement from the zonal PPRO, DSP Nelson Okpabi confirmed that Okunlola is the thirteenth AIG and succeeds AIG Usman Sule Gomna who retired from service on attainment of the statutory sixty years of age.
The new AIG hails from Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State.
He was appointed into the force in 1988 as one of the pioneer Cadet Assistant Superintendents of the then Police Academy in Kaduna.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from University of Ibadan and a Master’s Degree in Legal Studies from the famous Lagos State University.
The AIG has before his posting to the Zone held several command and staff appointments, including: Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration ICT Department, Force Headquarters Abuja.
He has attended several leadership courses, mission and conferences to his credit including, the United Nations Mission in Bosnia and Hezergonia.
The new AIG upon resumption of duty, decorated 14 newly promoted officers with their ranks.
Kamaldeen said the promotion which is said to be in line with IGP’s Manpower Development Policy aimed at not only boosting the morale of Police personnel for effective service delivery, but to identify, elevate and position deserving officers professionally.
Those who top the decoration list include ACP Emeka Onyekaba in-charge of Zonal X-Squad, DSP Friday Ekpo the Admin. Officer Zonal Investigation Department, DSP Catherine Labaran in-charge of Zonal Stores; ASP Nixon Abang, ASP Jenny Okpa, ASP Ntui Pasca, Okwoche Benedict, ASP Abraham Kalaigorigo and six others
Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers ACP Emeka Onyekaba, thanked the IGP, the Police Service Commission, the AIG and his Management team for finding them worthy of the promotion and promised to redouble their efforts to justify the confidence reposed in them.
