Late Senator, Col.Akaagerger
A former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has described the death of former military governor of Katsina State, Senator Joseph Akaagerger as shocking and devastating.
Senator Mark of Benue-South was in the 6th Senate with Senator Akaagerger who represented Benue North-East.
Senator Mark lamented: “The last time I saw him, he was vibrant and full of energy. There was no inkling of any ailment that would warrant his death so soon.
“This is really sad. He was a fine soldier and intellectual of the highest order.
“I recall his robust contributions to motions and debates. He was a patriot who took the nation as his constituency.
“In Akaagerger, we have lost a patriotic soldier and a great nationalist with a fertile mind for unity, peace and progress of the nation”.
Akaagerger died in Abuja on Monday.
He was a distinguished lawyer and the last military administrator of Katsina State.
Senator Mark prayed that God in His infinite mercies grant him eternal rest.
