The Founder of Al-Muhibbah Foundation, Hajia Aisha Bala Mohammed, appeared on a 30-minute live program on Africa TV3 to highlight the remarkable achievements of her foundation over the past 15 years.
Established initially to care for cemeteries, the Al-Muhibbah Foundation has since expanded into a multifaceted organization addressing critical needs in health, education, agriculture, women’s empowerment, and skill acquisition.
“We began with a focus on cemeteries, believing in the dignity of caring for the final resting places of our loved ones. Over time, our mission evolved to tackle the broader challenges facing our society,” Hajia Aisha said during the interview.
The foundation’s notable achievements include the construction of two hospitals in Jamda and Alkaleri, the provision of ambulances for emergency response, and the award of scholarships spanning primary to higher education. Among its innovative programs is the “Not Too Late to Learn” initiative, which provides married women with opportunities to resume their education.
In a groundbreaking move, the foundation recently launched Al-Muhibbah Open University, the first of its kind in Nigeria’s North East region. The institution is poised to offer quality higher education to underserved communities. Additionally, Al-Muhibbah Foundation has established AMF Passion, a shoe-making factory, and Khuld Water, a bottled water company, both of which are creating employment opportunities and driving economic growth.
The live program also featured Dr. Habib Tijjani, General Manager of Africa TV3, who provided a brief history of the station. Originally based in Sudan, the station relocated to Ethiopia (Africa TV1), Tanzania (Africa TV2), and Nigeria (Africa TV3) due to the Sudan crisis. In Nigeria, the station also operates Africa TV3 (Quran) and Salam TV, both headquartered in Kano.
Dr. Tijjani expressed gratitude for the visit of the First Lady of Bauchi State and her team.
He noted that discussions were held regarding potential partnerships between Africa Academy and Al-Muhibbah Open University to advance their shared commitment to education.
In a statement signed by Murjanatu Musa Maidawa, Chief Press Secretary to the First Lady, she emphasized the importance of highlighting the foundation’s impact, which continues to inspire hope and drive development across Bauchi State and beyond.
The program underscored the transformative impact of Al-Muhibbah Foundation’s initiatives and the prospects for future collaborations to foster community development.
