Allow me access to my ailing sister or you admit me also – 10-year-old threatens Hospital
By Raymond Gukas, Jos
It was a double shock for the parents of a set of twins in Jos, Plateau State as one of the ten-year-old, Terfa has refused to cooperate with parents and hospital staff since his sister, Doosuur was admitted in an Intensive Care Unit, (ICU) of the Plateau State Specialist Hospital over severe burns she suffered in a fire incident.
Doosuur, daughter of Isaac Abaa; a journalist who was part of the downsizing in the media industry in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, got burnt while tending to her six-year-old brother, Terver is said to be responding to treatment.
Her other twin brother, Terfa has “threatened” the peace if he won’t be allowed to visit his sick sister in the ICU of the hospital which is a restricted area for fear of other infections.

He told his mother who is nursing a barely three-month-old child that if the non cooperative doctors and nurses at the ICU won’t allow him access to his sister, then he will have to fall sick also to be admitted near his recuperating sister.
Father of the sick girl told Apex News Exclusive that Doosuur was on that fateful day of January 5, 2021 attending to her younger sibling; Terver who was playing with a used tire near a fire a neighbour has set to burn dry leaves and other refuse outside the compound.
Unfortunately, the dress she was wearing was lit up with fire from behind when she attempted to pull her younger brother away and before help could reach her, she suffered deep wounds all over her body.
Neighbours who eventually came up to rescue the girl then called out to her mother who was breastfeeding the three months old and they rushed her to the state government owned Plateau Specialist Hospital where she is being attended to.
The jobless father is appealing to the public to come to his aid as the medical expenses was taking a toll on the family that is barely managing to feed because of his situation and the economic hardship Nigerians are facing.
For lack of resources, he has been forced to substitute vital drugs for the ones he could afford and this, he said was not giving him sleepless nights.
