The Governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in the November 8, 2025 Anambra State governorship election, Ozo Jeff Nweke, has promised to liberate the people of the State from excruciating hunger and poverty ravaging them now.
Speaking in Awka, the State capital when he formally launched his campaign for the governorship race, Ozo Nweke lamented the degree of poverty and lack in the face of huge wealth which has been mismanaged by leaders,
stressing that it is the people that matter in the art of governance.
The gubernatorial candidate told the mammoth crowd that they represented the impoverished people of the State he came out to liberate.
He said: “All of us here including myself are poor. People who are here are artisans, market women, ordinary traders. No rich person is here. And it is you people that matter”
He said leaders have changed the meaning of public service by siphoning the public money and stashed it abroad for themselves and their immediate families.
The gubernatorial candidate expressed displeasure that leaders have neglected education and relegated teachers to tye background with poor remuneration to the detriment of our children.
” They have neglected the provision of quality infrastructure. I will provide quality education, infrastructure. The simple thing to do as a leader is to fulfill what you promised the people” Nweke said.
He lamented not only the rise of insecurity in the State but also its persistence, promising to address it if elected in the coming poll.
“For some of you, coming here is by God’s grace because of insecurity. There is systematic corruption which has promoted indispline. Poor leadership has become new normal to us” he lamented.
Continuing Ozo Nweke said: ” I feel for you. I am like you. Many don’t know how to go back from this event. They don’t know where next meal will come from because of poverty”.
But Nweke assured that he joined the race to represent their interest, saying that this is the first time ordinary people of the State are represented in governorship race.
He however assured that things would radically change if he becomes the Governor of Anambra State after June 8, 2025.
“There will be no discrimination in governance.People will regain their freedom. But this can be possible if all of you can vote for me on November 8, 2025. I will use power for your advantage, to empower the peasants, to promote agriculture. I need your support and solidarity by voting Action Alliance” Nweke appealed to the supporters who intermittently hailed him.
