The Chairman of Organizing Committee of the endorsement of Governor Chukwuma Soludo rally by the traders in 33 markets in Anambra State, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu, has said that the Governor’s commitment to provide sustainable infrastructural development that have turned around their market was the motivating factor for the endorsement rally this Saturday.
Speaking to newsmen in his office in Onitsha, Chief Ochiogu said the event which would draw all the traders in the State will hold at Justice Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Awka Road, Onitsha this Saturday August 23, 2025.
He said virtually all the markets in Anambra State have in one way or the order benefitted from the infrastructural development of Governor Soludo’s Government, hence they were indebted to formally adopt and endorse him as their candidate for the November 8, 2025 governorship race in the state.
Chief Ochiogu said that Main Market, Ochanja, Ose Okwodu, Relief Market, Bridgehead, Ogboefere, Plastic, Electronic, Ogbabada, Iron Rod dealers and other markets in Nnewi , Idemili, Awka and others parts of the State have benefitted from Soludo” road rehabilitation and fight against insecurity among others.
He said his market, Ogbaru Main Market in particular has benefitted tremendously from the road networks and General hospital constructed by Governor Soludo in Okpoko, a sprawling suburb of Onitsha.
The President General of Ogbaru Main Market said the Governor would soon commence the construction of Ogbaru -Ozubulu road, which would be of enormous economic importance to them in the market as their customers would now have alternative route to exit or enter into their market.
Ochiogu said that Soludo has frontally confronted insecurity in the State especially kidnapping and there is no need changing a winning team, thus his endorsement for second term.
He said the endorsement would be carnival of a sort as different markets would be coming with their masquerades and musicians, saying that his market alone would bring three different musical groups.
The President -General of ASMATA, under its banner the rally is being organized, , Chief Humphrey Anuna, earlier in interview had told journalists that Anambra State traders would give Soludo 150 percent endorsement for November 8, 2025 Governorship election because of what he has done for traders.
Anuna said the greatest beneficiaries of fight against insecurity are traders, saying that the two in one skill, free education and free ante natal programmes of Prof. Soludo are all geared towards improving the quality of lives of traders.
” Those benefitting from free education are our children, our wives are benefiting from free ante natal. Our children are beneficiaries of skill acquisition. What of roads? We are giving Soludo 150 percent backing in the election. He has done more than well” said Anuna.
