The Anambra State House of Assembly has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo on his sweeping victory in the November 8, 2025 governorship election.
The congratulatory message followed a motion sponsored by Chief Ejike Okechukwu, representing Anaocha Constituency II. Lawmakers described Soludo’s re-election as a strong endorsement of his leadership and a reflection of the people’s confidence in his administration.
According to the Assembly, the Governor’s victory in all 21 local government areas demonstrates the widespread approval of his developmental achievements across the State.
Deputy Speaker, Chief Chukwuma Okoye, thanked his constituents for their massive turnout, noting that the transformative infrastructure and social projects executed under Soludo significantly contributed to his renewed mandate.
Other lawmakers, including Mr. Anayo Okpalaeke of Aguata Constituency I and the House Majority Leader, Mr. Ikenna Ofodeme, also praised security agencies, the media, and various support personnel for ensuring a peaceful and credible election.
Chief Okechukwu commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting what he described as a transparent and violence free poll, adding that the process further strengthens democracy in Anambra and Nigeria.
He also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for fostering a stable national climate that enabled the seamless election.
Describing the victory as “a mandate that carries the weight of the people’s hopes,” Okechukwu said the result signifies both gratitude for Soludo’s achievements and trust in his continued vision for the State.
He highlighted key milestones of the administration, including the renewal of Okpoko, free education, free maternal healthcare, and youth empowerment through the One Youth, Two Skills initiative.
According to him, the people’s votes were a clear message: “Continue, do not relent; finish what you have started.”
In his remarks, the Speaker, Dr. Udeze reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to partnering with the Governor to strengthen legislation that will drive sustainable development, security, and prosperity in Anambra State.
