By Alphonsus Nweze, Onitsha
The flagship political support structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Ikemba Front, has called on the people of Onitsha North 1 Constituency to come out en-masse and vote for the APC candidate, ; Hon Chuka Ojekwe, in the next Saturday bye-election.
Speaking during the flag-off campaign rally for Hon. Ojekwe at Ime-Obi Ogbeoza Arena, Inland Town, Onitsha, the National Coordinator of Ikemba Front, Sir&509 Arinzechukwu Awogu, said that Onitsha North 1 Constituency is the heart of Onitsha Ado n’Idu which represents the royal diadem and therefore must not be gifted to those who disparage and denigrate Onitsha kingdom.
“On Saturday we will use our votes to reclaim the pride of the Onitsha ancient kingdom. Your vote for APC is a vote for Hon. Chuka Ojekwe, your vote for Hon. Chuka Ojekwe is a vote for Obi of Onitsha and it is a vote for the pride of Onitsha Ado n’Idu” he said at the rally.
He continued: “Use your votes to tell APGA that their party and their Governor can not denigrate the highly revered Onitsha ancient kingdom. APGA has insulted Onitsha enough and we must silence them by voting massively for APC to restore the pride of the people of Onitsha.” Awogu said.
Sir Awogu who also doubles as the Director of Administration, Anambra State APC, said that it was the failure of APGA Government in totality that led to the painful murder of late Hon. Justice Azuka for which the bye-election was being conducted and assured that Hon. Chuka Ojekwe would be the true voice of the people in the State House of Assembly.
He predicted that Hon. Chuka Ojekwe would be the APC forerunner that would recieve and welcome their coming governor, Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, as a seating House member by 17th of March, 2026: “when Ukachukwu will be sworn in as the governor of Anambra State”.
The Onitsha North 1 Constituency bye-election which holds this Saturday, 16th of August, cane as a result of the death of Hon. Justice Azuka, who was the member representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly before his unfortunate death in the hands of his kidnappers.
