The Anambra State APC Chapter has sacked it Public Secretary, Mr. Okelo Madukaife.
The State Chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike announced this at a press conference in Awka, the Anambra Capital on Sunday.
Chief Ejidike said Mr. Okelo who was suspended in June this had continued to parade himself the Public syecretary to extent that he appeared on a National Television recently to congratulate All Progressives Grand Alliance Governor-elect, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
He said, ”Mr. Okelo was suspended in June this year. We were surprised that he has continued to parade himself as the Publicity Secretary of the party. That ought not be.
“On behalf of APC Anambra State, we wish to clearly state that Mr. Okelo Madukaife is no longer a member of our party and so he can’t be or function as the Publicity Secretary of our part in the State.
”Anybody dealing with him as a member of APC or Publicity Secretary of the party is doing so on their own risk.
“We will wish to state categorically that as far as the Anambra Governorship poll is concerned we have not congratulated anybody.”
Describing the election as fraud, Chief Ejidike said the party was studying the situation with a view to approaching the court about the outcome of the poll.
He reminded the the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige and Director General of the National Inland Water Ways, Chief George Moghalu (all members of the APC in the State, Chief Ejike said the did that as individuals and not as officials of the party.
Chief Ejidike was replace with the assistant Public Secretary Mr. Nonso Chinwuba. Mr. Okelo did not contest his suspension; after a panel report. He quite went home and stopped attending our meetings. But we are aware that since June has been raining abuses on our party.
“You can’t be outside the party and claim to be speaking on behalf of the party and speak. Drawn to activities Okelo. Congratulated Soludo. Since June 2021 has been raining abuses on APC. Mr.Okelo was suspended since June follow his involvement in anti party activities.”
The State Chairman of the Party has been replace by assistant pub se, bari’s Nonso Chinwuba. Mr. Okelo does not belong to the party.
Describing November 6 as fraud. As law abiding baetty can’t be associate such. Can’t congratulate anybody. The are individuals.
When contacted on the telephone, Mr. Madukaife said he remained the State’s Publicity Secretary.
“As I’m talking with you I’m still doing my work very effectively; discharging my duties as the Publicity Secretary of the party in the State. So, I don’t know what you are talking about. “Chief Basil Ejidike said that at press conference?
“Maybe, I should see everything he said so that I reply once because our party cannot be sold to anybody. Our position that there were no governorship primaries in Anambra as stated by our chapter remains firm, fixed and unshakable. It’s the truth registered in the minds of all members of APC in the State.
“But I need to see what exactly Chief Ejidike is saying before I can make one word. Chief Ejidike is on his own. The whole chapter has discovered that he is a sellout; who collected a lot of money to sell our primaries out.
“I don’t want to miss one word in what I’m replying, that’s why I said I would want to see what exactly he said because we have been managing him for the sake of our own image,” Mr. Madukaife stated.
