Anambra election petition tribunal receives 42 petitions

The Anambra State Election Petition Tribunal has so far received forty-two petitions over the outcome of both national and state House of Assembly elections held in the state on February 23 and March 9 2019 respectively.
Barrister Tony Onyekwelu of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is challenging the declaration of Lilian Uche Ekwunife of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of Anambra Central Senatorial District Election, Chief Ekene Enefe of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA) is challenging the declaration of Mr. Vincent Ofumelu of the as the winner of Oyi/Ayamelum Federal constituency election while Barrister Ernest Nwoye of the People’s Democratic Party also challenged the declaration of Chief Chinedu Obidigwe of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, as the winner of Anambra East and West Federal Constituency.
Other petitioners were Barrister Sopuluchukwu Ezeonwuka of Accord Party who is challenging the declaration of Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance as the winner of Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Dozie Nwankwo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance is challenging the declaration of Hon. Valentine Ayika of the People’s Democratic Party as the winner of Njikoka, Anaocha and Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Senator Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress is challenging the declaration of Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Uba of the Young Progress Party as the winner of Anambra South Senatorial District election.
While Nnerlik Malive Uchechukwu -Udorji of the SDP is challenging the declaration of Senator Stella Oduah of the PDP as the winner of Anambra North Senatorial Election.
Mr. Nnamdi Chife of the PDP is challenging the declaration of Mr. Patrick Obalim Udoba of APGA as the winner of the Anambra West Constituency election, Hon. Obinna Chidoka of the People’s Democratic Party, petitioned the declaration of Mr. Ifeanyi Ibezi of APGA as the winner of the Idemili North and South Federal Constituency Election among other petitioners.
The Secretary of the Anambra State Election Petition Tribunal, Barrister Falilat Orire said that the tribunal is now receiving feedbacks from respondents and as soon as that is completed, the tribunal will enter into pre-hearing session.
