Anambra fire service puts out fire at investment agency building

Property worth thousands of naira was yesterday destroyed by fire at Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, (ANSIPPA), office in Awka.
The fire, which affected the last floor, started around 5pm.
Our correspondent, reports that ANSIPPA office is cited along the Awka/Enugu Expressway, beside the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital Amaku, Awka.
According to the Managing Director, Mr. Jide Ikeakor, the cause of the outbreak could not be ascertained as at the time of filling this report.
Mr. Ikeakor disclosed that it was the security men on duty that alerted him around five pm and affirmed that the prompt arrival of the State Fire Fighters helped in extinguishing the fire from escalating into other office apartments.
Also speaking, the Head of the State Fire Service, Mr. Martins Agbili, who led his men to extinguish the fire, noted that they got a distress call about the fire and promptly responded.
He said the cause and level of damage will be determined after conducting an investigation, thanking God that the fire was put out without casualties as staff had gone home before the outbreak.
