Anambra First Lady says man who allegedly molested 8-year old will face full justice

The First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo has assured that the 75-year-old man who allegedly molested an eight-year old girl in Awka will face the full wrath of the law.

The Governor’s wife who was reacting to the arrest of a 75-year-old barber who allegedly lured and molested a minor in his house in Isiagu, Awka South Local Government Area, said that she will follow up on the case and ensure that justice prevails in the right measure.

Mrs. Soludo called for calm to allow authorities to carry out proper investigation into the matter and assured the general public of right and timely updates on the case.

She insisted that Anambra State is an inhabitable environment for abusers of any form, stressed that the current administration takes such issues seriously and goes the extra mile to ensure that offenders are severely punished.

The First Lady commended the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare for immediately weighing into the issue, stating that every child in the State deserves a safe and thriving environment to pursue their dreams.

The Governor’s wife while re-assuring that she will continue to use the instrumentality of her non-governmental movement to create better awareness and education on social causes.

She also appealed to parents and guardians to be mindful of the environment around their children and wards, including their whereabouts and who they relate with.

Mrs. Soludo further explained that society also has a greater role to play in ensuring that perpetrators of certain ills are meant to face justice instead of covering up for them and their crimes.
